The committed, unique, like-minded people of Fort Henry Buckskinners consider each other family. It's the stories and charisma of each one that makes this group so uplifting. Club gatherings and competitions are held throughout the year and include black powder shooting, hawk and knife throwing and archery, where scores are kept and the winner at the end of the year gets bragging rights and prizes. These club gatherings usually are potlucks so we can enjoy good food and good company.
We hold our Rendezvous the first full week in June. This Rendezvous is open to the public from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. There is a primitive and modern camp. Also, there is lots to enjoy with a variety of traders and exhibits. Throughout the week there are many events for adults and children to participate in such as: a woods walk shoot, hawk and knife course, trader’s blanket, primitive archery, atl atl throwing, and several other competitions. In the evenings, after camp closes to the public, we enjoy traditional games for all ages, live music, cook-offs, and much more.
With the help of our club members, we also sponsor a Junior Rendezvous for the 4th graders of Eastern Idaho each year. At this rendezvous, we demonstrate the life of the mountain man to make learning a little bit more fun for the students and ourselves.
Our members are located in and around Southeast Idaho and surrounding areas. We love welcoming new members and families into our group!
